Toscano Rink Rules
The UConn Division of Athletics strives to provide first class facilities and amenities to its Division I student-athletes, staff, guests and the overall student body. The following policies and guidelines are designed to ensure that participants and guests all have a safe and enjoyable experience while preserving an atmosphere that does not intrude on our Varsity programs or their opponents who will be utilizing the visiting locker rooms.
- Teams arrive 40 minutes or less prior to their ice time.
- All teams must use the main entrance sliding door. The hallway entrance may not be propped at any time.
- Parents should drop off and pickup in the parking lots. Stopping in the street is dangerous and prohibited.
- Parking in I-Lot West(Lot to the right of Toscano) is recommended.
- No one should be spectating the ice activity from the hallway. Teams should remain in their locker room until it is time to get on the ice. No one should be on the bench during resurfacing. Hallways should be kept clear with no players dressing or parents hanging around.
- Players and coaches should only enter the bench area when their time is about to start, and officials are already on the ice. For Games, the home team should enter the visitor’s bench area for ice entry first followed by the Visitors. The home team always uses the East bench next to the penalty boxes.
- Bench doors may be opened and skaters may enter the ice once Zamboni doors are closed and start-time is on the red clock. If the driver wants to allow a group to go on early, they will notify the group.
- Food or drinks are prohibited from the penalty box area.
- No shooting drills toward either of player benches are allowed.
- No coffee or writing on walls or glass.
- No Music in locker room. Locker room noise can be heard on the ice.
- The group is responsible for communicating these rules with their guests. The group is responsible for all of their guests. All barriers and rules must be respected.
- Parents must supervise their children at all times in the spectating area. There are a lot of places that kids can hide and/or get injured in this facility if they are unsupervised.
